It's Getting Harder to Tell What's Real

It's Getting Harder to Tell What's Real

As more products get an AI label added on, the real evaluation criteria haven't changed: productivity, friction reduction, adoption, and governance.

Hi all 👋

‍

Have you noticed how much harder it's becoming to separate genuine AI innovation from AI marketing?

The technology is improving rapidly, but so is the volume of claims being made around it.

‍

What's Happening in AI
‍

There's been a growing conversation recently around something called "AI washing".

The idea is pretty simple: companies are increasingly adding AI labels to products and services that are really just standard automation, reporting tools, or software capabilities that have existed for years.

This is making it harder for buyers and operators to separate real business impact from hype.

At the end of the day, the evaluation criteria haven't really changed:

  • Does it improve productivity?
  • Does it reduce operational friction?
  • Does it improve decision-making?
  • Can it actually be adopted by the business?
  • Can it be governed properly?

The AI label is the easy part. Demonstrating value is where things get interesting.

In Case You Missed It
‍

A few thoughts on why AI may redesign org charts faster than it replaces jobs.

‍

That's it for this week.
